FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Fort Worth are searching for three men after a deadly shooting at an apartment complex. It happened at around 12:30 a.m. early Thursday in the 9000 block of Brian Way Circle.
Police have taped off a large crime scene, covering most of the parking lot at the Bent Tree complex. Officers received a call about shots being fired, and arrived to find two victims with gunshot wounds.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner listed 23-year-old Eleaquin Cardona as being shot and killed at the scene. Some of his family members have come by the apartment complex Thursday morning to speak with investigators.
The other victim has only been identified by police as a 21-year-old Hispanic man. He was treated at the scene.
Detectives are investigating the shooting as a possible robbery case. Police said that three suspects are believed to have chased the two victims across the apartment complex's parking lot while firing shots. It is not yet clear how many shots were fired, or what type of weapons were used.
There have been no descriptions released yet of the three suspects, and no reports of any arrests being made.
The incident scares residents like Jeff Crites, who lives near the crime scene. "My main concern is safety for my son and myself," he said, "because there's been another incident that happened here a few months ago. It's a good place but real big concern safety-wise."
