Suspects Beat Elderly Couple During Irving Home Invasion

IRVING (CBSDFW.COM) - Police are on the hunt for several people after a violent home invasion in Irving left an elderly couple injured.
The incident happened about 4 a.m. in the 1000 block of Fouts Drive, between Beltline Road and Story Road.
According to investigators, a group of men broke the front window with a cinder block and then attacked the couple. "There were four suspects who broke in, forced their way in, and tied them up," explained Irving police spokesperson Officer James McLellan.
The couple, who are in their 70s and 80s, were bound and gagged.
McLellan said the husband was "severely" beaten and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The man's son, Eason Wright Jr., said his father was pistol whipped and was bleeding badly from the head. Wright said his father owns a gun but couldn't get to it in time, because everything happened so fast.
"They had a glove over their hand. They hit her [his mother] in the side of the head," Wright said. "They pistol whipped my dad, so this was all really a very surprised situation. It was almost like military precision."
Despite his injuries, Wright said his father was able to break free and un-tie his wife. She was not seriously injured.
In addition to the assault, the suspects made off with a small amount of cash and some jewelry. No description of the suspects has been given yet and no arrests have been made.
Irving police are investigating the incident. Wright believes his parents were targeted because of their age.
