CARROLLTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Police say two women claimed that they were being held against their will at the In-Town Suites on West Trinity Mills Road in Carrollton.

The women were 18 and 19-years-old and in a motel room with 25-year-old Malcolm Hickson. According to one of those women, Carrollton police were looking for Hickson concerning a domestic violence charge.

Police say that Hickson had a handgun when he came out of the motel room and that is what warranted a nine year Carrollton Police officer to fire his weapon.

"We didn't know where he was until a woman in great distress came to police, told us she was held against her will by this man, and being used in sex trafficking," says Carrollton POLICE Spokesperson, Jolene DeVito, "He initially complied, then clearly went for the gun. When he went for his gun, he was shot one time by one of our SWAT operators."

"I do not believe in every fiber of my body that he did not put his hands up, and leave them up," says Malcom's mother, Natalie Hickson.

She said the claims of pimping women, sex assault, holding them against their will makes no sense. Yes, her son has a long list of criminal activity.  He recently ended a four-year prison sentence.

"He just got out of the penitentiary in February. What makes me so sad he was safer there then here because the Carrollton Police Department doesn't like him because the color of his skin," claims Natalie Hickson.
