ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) – Arlington Police had to use a Taser on a suspect who fired a gun into the air from his car and refused to surrender Monday afternoon.

Witnesses say a man was holding a gun outside his car window and fired a single shot into the air near the Lamar Street exit on Interstate 30. Linda Chandler saw this and followed the man into a nearby apartment complex.

"He was weaving in and out and we stayed on the trail until we got his tag number and everything," she said.

That man was identified as Henry Reed Jr., 31. When police cornered him at the Waterchase Apartments off Lamar Street and Lincoln Drive, Arlington Police spokeswoman Tiara Richard said he would not give himself up.

Richard said he was Tased and arrested. Reed Jr. was charged with unlawfully carrying a firearm; discharging a firearm in a municipality; and driving while intoxicated.
