Suspect In Deadly Plano Shooting Could Be Linked To Double Arlington Murder
PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) - The suspect in a shooting that killed one and injured three in Plano could also be behind a double murder in Arlington.
Franklin Barnes, 19, was arrested in McKinney Thursday evening.
Plano police say he shot four people at the Cross Creek apartments on Alma Drive near Legacy Thursday morning, killing one.
Two victims who were shot were apartment employees who found themselves close to the gunman, according to apartment management.
"The cleaning lady was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. He ran down the steps and saw her," said apartment resident Richie Ryan.
On Friday, Arlington police say they believe Barnes may have also shot and killed two people at The Residence on Lamar apartments.
The victims in the Arlington murders have been identified as 25-year-olds Winston Davis and Joshua Daniels.
"We sent our homicide detectives to Plano and determined, yes. We are very confident this is probably going to be the only individual in our two deaths," Arlington Police Lt. Chris Cook.
Arlington police say they tired Barnes to cell phone activity with the victims.
Police are still investigating a motive for the shootings.
