Teen Arrested After 2 Found Dead In Crowley Home

UPDATE: Crowley Police arrested Carl Edward Brewer, 17, Wednesday afternoon and charged him with two counts of murder for the deaths of the two people "connected to an incident that occurred late Tuesday evening/early Wednesday morning."
Brewer's bond was set at $100,000 for each charge for a total bond of $200,000.
CROWLEY (CBS11) - Crowley Police were still at a house where two bodies were found and a standoff began nearly 24 hours before in the 800 block of Buffalo Court.
It started when police discovered the bodies Tuesday night and a 12-hour stand off with a possible suspect began. Neighbors called the deaths 'shocking,' but said seeing police cars at the house where the bodies were found, was not unusual.
"I've seen the police over here several times," Johnny Griffin said. "So whenever you do that you kind of figure that anything could happen over there. If it was once or twice? But they were over there quite a bit."
Other neighbors said they, too, have seen police at the house dealing with the combative relationships in the household.
Police responded to a call to check on things there around 7:00 p.m. Tuesday. That's when they found two people dead inside. The officers called SWAT for backup and a standoff with a suspect began as neighbors were evacuated.
"It scared my girls to death," Griffin said. "Because here you are with SWAT coming in with rifles and everything and saying hey you got a leave. The girls were scared."
The victims haven't been identified, but the home is owned by Troy and Mary Brewer according to neighbors and county records.
Neighbors said they heard tear gas being fired into the upstairs bedroom of the home during the standoff. They believe one of the couple's three sons, 16 or 17 years old, is the person police are holding as a person of interest in the murders.
"It's very traumatic," said Crowley Police spokesman Jay Hinton. "It's a situation where you don't ever want to deal with things like that. And we're very sympathetic to the family. We're very sympathetic to the friends the neighbors, everybody here."
The Crowley Police Department will hold a news conference Thursday, Dec. 1 at 10:00 a.m. to give an update on the case.
