Suspect Dead In Fort Worth Police Confrontation
FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - The suspect in a Fort Worth shooting is dead after a confrontation with police.
The suspect was identified as a white male in his mid-30s.
A complainant was called into police around 3:40 p.m. reporting a man on foot acting very aggressive in the 5600 block of East Lancaster Avenue.
Fort Worth Police said the suspect was covered in blood when they first located him.
Officers made contact with the suspect, and during that time the suspect presented a weapon (a sharp object of some kind) and attacked the officers. The officers opened fire, striking the suspect.
The suspect was transported to the nearest hospital in critical condition. He has since died. The ME will make final determination as to the cause of death and positively identify the suspect.
No officers were injured during this incident.
