FRISCO (CBBSDFW.COM) - After a four day weekend north Texas students returned to class today.

As many headed to school snow was falling. Something students hoped for while they were off.

Some kids were undoubtedly hoping for more extreme weather to spare them from school. Parent Kelly Munro spent an uncertain night wondering whether schools would finally open Wednesday. "Then this morning we woke up early, went and looked out, looked at my phone for the text 'cause Frisco ISD is really good about texting if schools close. And there's no text. The roads look good. Alright guys, time to get up and go to school."

Other kids needed a little more coaxing than others. David Hayes says his second grader was actually looking forward to getting back to his routine. "He likes school a lot, so he was kind of happy and cooped up in the house for a couple of days, I think he was ready to get out."

Damika Cieeion, a Dallas mom told us what it was like to take her four year old preschooler to work for two days. "Yesterday he was not trying. He was running around. I couldn't get him to sit still. I left early enough so I could do something else at home. He was bored to death. Saying mama I'm bored! Mama I wanna do something. Mama! that's how my day was yesterday!"

Fort Worth ISD students started with a 2 hour delay, just in case things got bad on the roads.

The snow started coming down around seven this morning, but within a couple of hours all that was left was a light dusting.
