Students, Faculty Evacuated After Bomb Threat At Cross Timbers Middle School
GRAPEVINE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) - Grapevine Police are investigating multiple threats made to Cross Timbers Middle School and the GCISD Administration building on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
The first threat was phoned into Cross Timbers Middle School at approximately 9:30 a.m. Employees called 911 while the campus was evacuated. Police and personnel from Grapevine Fire remained on-scene for the continued health and safety of all students and staff.
Once the initial search was completed, both inside and outside the building, officers utilized a bomb detection dog from DFW Airport Police to make a secondary search throughout the school.
The building searches were finalized shortly before noon, and students were allowed back into the building for lunch.
An hour later, a separate threat was called in to Cross Timbers Middle School, possibly related to the bomb threat phoned in that morning. Since the building had just been searched, and police remained on scene, students were kept inside as officers kept watch of all entrances and exits.
The GCISD Administration building also received threats that appear to be related to the calls at Cross Timbers Middle School. Officers also responded to this location as a precaution.
Grapevine Police will continue to investigate the threats and work to identify the caller or callers. Parents may see additional officers on campus this week as a precaution only.
