NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Hood County suffered extensive damage when torrential rains and a confirmed EF-1 tornado ripped across North Texas Tuesday.

Hood County Commissioner James Deaver toured the area and said he saw lots of damage first hand in Tolar,  south of Granbury.

"Looks like a bomb went off, like a tornado always does. Mobile homes turned upside down and tin lying everywhere," he said.

Volunteers and residents are already working to remove damaged roofs and cover before the next round of storms rolls through.

The Red Cross has already set up shop in the area to help those affected, according to Deaver.

"Tolar Baptist Church is open for the people affected, to help them get gasoline of whatever they need. The doors are open."
