Rain, storms arrive in North Texas during Monday morning commute
NORTH TEXAS – Monday is a First Alert Weather Day due to the potential of rain and storms during the morning hours.
There will be scattered storms throughout North Texas Monday morning, bringing heavy rain and strong wind gusts.
A tornado watch is in effect for counties further west of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex until 10 a.m., including Montague, Palo Pinto and Eastland counties.
Monday morning, most of North Texas is under a slight threat of severe storms.
Scattered showers arrive to North Texas around 6 a.m. and by 7 a.m., the line will make its way into Dallas-Fort Worth.
With that line, winds could gust up to 60 mph and there's a chance of a quick spin-up tornado. Rain chances are at 100% by 9 a.m.
The showers will shift to the east before 12 p.m.
Clear conditions are expected in the afternoon and evening hours and a cold front is on the way by midweek, prompting another First Alert Weather Day on Wednesday.
