DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Lightning lit up the North Texas skies on Tuesday night, but the storms left thousands of people in the dark on Wednesday morning. Crews with Oncor worked through the night to get the power going once again.

As many as 50,000 customers were without electricity at the height of the storm. That number was cut in half by dawn on Wednesday, but several neighborhoods were still without light -- including Gaston Middle School.

Oncor estimated that it could be 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday before power returns to some customers -- or later.
