Stephen Jones On Spencer, Possible DeMarco Extension
DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) -- Before the season opener, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones projected that Pro Bowl defensive end Anthony Spencer could be ready by week 2. That didn't happen.
So now that Spencer has missed the first two weeks of the season, is it reasonable to expect him in the next two weeks?
"I think that's not unreasonable," said Stephen Jones with the G-Bag Nation on 105.3 The Fan on Monday. "I think that's certainly aggressive, but I don't think it's totally out of the question that he could play in a couple weeks."

Head coach Jason Garrett told reporters on Monday that Spencer will begin football related activities, "in some form", this week.
The team avoided placing Spencer on the PUP list, a move that would have kept him out for at least six weeks. Though inactive, the team chose to keep him on Dallas' active 53-man roster.
The Cowboys are still confident, however, that Spencer will return from microfracture knee surgery sooner than week 7. If not, the team occupied a roster spot for nothing.
"We're optimistic that he would get back sooner than the six weeks, and we still feel that way," said Jones.
An Extension For DeMarco?

The answer: DeMarco Murray.
Murray has rushed for 285 yards in games against the 49ers and Titans, finding the endzone twice.
Most of the conversation this offseason has surrounded an extension for wide receiver Dez Bryant. But are the Cowboys interested in locking up Murray?
"We certainly wouldn't be against that," said Stephen Jones. "Longterm, we've told DeMarco we'd love to have him here. At the end of the day, it's no different than Dez. We want to keep our good players, and DeMarco is one of them."
Bryant's contract runs through next season, while Murray's expires after the current season.
But DeMarco, not Dez, has been the focal point of the Cowboys offense through two weeks.
"He certainly has only increased our desire to have him stay."
