DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - The Dallas Cowboys are set to open their regular season at home this weekend against the New York Giants and Cowboys Executive VP Stephen Jones would not set-in-stone who be the starting RB to lead the Cowboys offensive running attack.

After making a last-minute move over the weekend, trading a conditional pick to the Seahawks for running back Christine Michael, Jones feels the new addition will "really compliment what we already have in terms of what McFadden does, what Joe Randle does, and what Dunbar does behind the offensive line."

Christine Michael "brings another skill set to the table - depending on what is working and what seems to be the best fit for us" said Jones.

Jones would not disclose who would be the starting running back for the Cowboys this Sunday night against the Giants, only saying "I think we'll probably make that decision as the week goes."

Jones was optimistic about the Cowboys returning to a similar 'running formula' as the 2014 season (led by then Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray) that worked so well for them.

"All the pieces are there" said Jones. "We've got our entire offensive line back from last year, now with La'el Collins and guys like Bernadeau, Weems and Mills - they are all set to work."

On the defensive side of the ball - the Cowboys will be without incoming LB Greg Hardy for the first 4-game of the season due to an NFL-imposed suspension.

When asked if the Cowboys would be pursuing any type of appeal to get the suspension overturned or shortened, Jones said "right now we're making plans that he's going to be suspended for 4-games and are ready to move forward."
