State To Help Dallas County Fight The Spread Of West Nile
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) has granted Dallas County's request for aid in its fight against the spread of the West Nile Virus.
Dallas County now has 100 cases of the disease.
The state will provide Dallas County Health and Human Services with additional pesticides.
In a press release, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said "I am pleased the state has granted our request for aid; Commissioner David Lakey and his team at DSHS are strong allies in the battle against West Nile."
The Dallas County Department of Health and Human Services have asked people to use the 4 D's method when fighting West Nile:
--use Insect repellents that contain DEET
--Drain any standing water
--Dress in long, loose and light-colored clothing and
--take extra care to use repellent and protective clothing from Dusk to Dawn.
Dallas County also has a newsletter available where county residents can learn where infected mosquito pools have been located.
