We all know the Great State Fair of Texas for the Midway rides, Automobile Building, Big Tex and, of course, the fantastic food!
One man has become famous for winning the Big Tex Choice Awards year after year. From fried Twinkies to the Smokey Bacon Margarita, every year is a new culinary adventure.
"I remember the first year when I introduced the deep fried Pop Tart and people were like 'oh my God that's a crazy item'"said Isaac Rousso.
Rousso is joining with Wal-Mart to open a restaurant for State Fair goodies all year long called State Fair Treats.
"This all evolved from people coming to us saying 'hey man, we love what you're doing, where can I get it'" Rousso added.
Rousso has gone from operating a twenty foot by twenty foot tent selling his signature Cuban sandwiches in the Cotton Bowl Plaza to opening the Magnolia Beer Garden, Magnolia Smokehouse and the Craft Beer Terrace.
The folks at WalMart took noticed and approached him with the idea of opening a year around place, inside Wal-Mart, to offer his fantastic fare.
"It's going to be fun for the family to be able to come into the Wal-Mart store, come over to our State Fair Treats, and sit down to a really cool hip fun place. You can come here and have a great meal" said Rousso.
