Stars Win In Los Angeles Was Much Needed

LOS ANGELES (CBSSPORTS.COM) - The Stars earned a big win on the road Saturday night, getting past the Los Angeles Kings 2-1 at Staples Center. Dallas had lost five of its previous six road games before evening its record at 7-7-0 away from Dallas.

The thinking before the trip was not to let one outing, good or bad, bleed into the next.

"We talked about it before we left Dallas that we're going to take each game individually and try not to look ahead," forward Brenden Morrow said.

Richard Bachman made his first career start in goal for Dallas and stopped 26 of 27 shots. Trevor Daley had a goal and assist for the Stars, and Jamie Benn also scored.

The Stars are 15-1-0 record this season when allowing two or fewer goals. Their lone loss came against the Los Angeles Kings earlier this season, a 1-0 setback.

The team next heads across the country to the New York area for games against the Rangers, Islanders and Devils. Dallas improved to 16-11-1.
