DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) -- First year general manager Jim Nill continues his offseason overhaul of the Dallas Stars, signing free agent center Chris Mueller to a one-year contract.

The 27-year-old Mueller split last season between Nashville and the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL. He had five points (two goals, three assists) in 18 games with the Predators, including his first career NHL goal March 19 at Columbus.

Mueller was the captain in Milwaukee, finishing second in goals with 18 and third in points with 36 in 55 games.

He had eight points in 37 career games with Nashville.

Financial terms of the deal announced Monday weren't disclosed.

The biggest splash of the offseason for the Stars came last week, when the club acquired Tyler Seguin from the Boston Bruins as part of a seven-player trade.
