Spur 408 Ramp Shut Down At I-20W
GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Traffic is backed up into Dallas from Grand Prairie from westbound I-20 at the Spur 408 ramp due to an overturned big rig. The 18-wheeler was carrying a cargo of compressed liquid nitrogen. After the big rig struck the ground, the liquid nitrogen started to leak onto the road, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans.
The compressed liquid immediately turns into gas once it comes in contact with the air; therefore, the only danger is someone coming in direct contact with it. Nonetheless, the ramp is shut down causing massive traffic delays.
The driver of the big rig wasn't injured.
