DFW AIRPORT (CBSDFW.COM) - After landing in Dallas, Spirit Airlines' flight 407 experienced a small fire on one of the landing gear tires Thursday afternoon.

A company spokesperson says the fire was quickly extinguished by the DFW Airport's fire department and no one was hurt.

The flight originated in Orlando. All passengers deplaned safely at the gate. A Spirit Airlines maintenance team worked to repair the tire and began investigating the cause of the fire.

The FAA reported earlier Spirit Airlines Flight 407 was taxiing to the gate after landing when the crew reported a possible brake fire. DFW DPS responded and the plane was towed to the gate.

The Airbus A-320 had 178 passengers on board.

Passenger Payton Ballesteros, who took the photos of the fire out a window remarked on Twitter, "They bragged about getting us here quickly...looks like it was a little too fast."
