Special Prosecutor Requested to Investigate DA
Collin County's district attorney says he doesn't know what it's about, but a special prosecutor has been named to look into charges of wrong-doing in John Roach's office. Roach says he doesn't know what supposed wrong-doing their talking about. But the grand jury that requested the prosecutor was called by state District Judge Suzanne Wooten, who has been under investigation by Roach's office. So, Roach smells political intrigue. In a news release, Roach also questions the make-up of the grand jury. One member of the panel is the father of Wooten's personal attorney, so Roach worries about undue influence there. Wooten's lawyer, though, says the judge recused herself from overseeing the grand jury earlier this year when she learned that Roach was still investigating her.
