Southwest Airlines Adding Routes In November

DALLAS (AP) - Southwest Airlines said Monday that it will add new service and take over some routes from its AirTran Airways subsidiary beginning in November.

The new schedule runs through the December holidays and up to Jan. 4.

Dallas-baesd Southwest will start daily nonstop flights between Houston and Indianapolis; Houston and Orange County, Calif.; Dallas and Harlingen, Texas; Denver and Louisville; and Kansas City and New Orleans.

Several routes currently flown by AirTran will switch to Southwest on Nov. 4 including Key West, Fla. to Orlando and Tampa, Fla.; and Milwaukee to San Francisco, Boston and Fort Lauderdale, Fla. AirTran also added winter flights on some routes.

Southwest plans to eventually discontinue the AirTran brand.
