Sources: Suspect Killed Himself After Being Shot By Officer

DALLAS (CBS11) - CBS11 has learned new details about an officer-involved shooting in downtown Dallas.
Sources said, Keelan Murray, was shot by the officer in his shoulder, and then shot and killed himself with his own gun. He was not killed by the officer, from the Duncanville Police Department, as originally reported.
There is not yet word what led to the shooting Wednesday afternoon in a high-rise apartment building along Commerce Street.
At the time, the Duncanville Police Officer was part of a Drug Enforcement Administration Task Force that was executing a search warrant at Murray's apartment.
Sources said Dallas Police, who are now investigating the shooting, are still reviewing police body cameras.
Federal court records show in April 2001, Murray was sentenced to ten years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a drug conspiracy that involved the death of former Dallas Cowboy Mark Tuinei, who overdosed on heroin.
In August 2010, records show Murray was sentenced to 37 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing anabolic steroids, a violation of his supervised release from his earlier conviction.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the lead agency investigating Murray, isn't commenting on its case or the shooting.
Experts said postal inspectors may have been looking into shipments Murray received in the mail.
During Wednesday's shooting, Ruby Lamblin, who lives in the apartment building where the shooting took place, said she started recording police activity on her cell phone when she returned from a walk with her dog.
"The next thing I know there's police all over the building and in the halls and in the elevators," said Lamblin. "It makes you feel uneasy knowing these things are happening on floors above you. I don't know what could have happened. A lot of things could have happened."
Lamblin said she had seen Murray before, but wasn't aware of his past.
"It is surprising and scary. Just knowing a suspect with a record like that lives close to us and we didn't even know about it."
