FORT WORTH (CBS 11 NEWS) - CBS-11 News has learned, the head of the civil division in the Tarrant County District Attorney's office, David Harris, is on leave.
Sources tell us this could involve harassment allegations.
District Attorney Sharen Wilson isn't commenting Thursday afternoon, but her office released this statement: "There is a matter under review, and until the review is completed he is on administrative leave. As it's a personnel matter, we don't have any further comment at this point."
The courthouse is all abuzz about this.
When Wilson took office this year and announced she hired Harris, she said he worked for the Texas Attorney General's office for 17 years as an assistant attorney general.
Then Governor-Elect Greg Abbott praised him in the news release.
This isn't the first time these allegations have surfaced at the Tarrant County DA's office.
As we reported in 2013, former District Attorney Joe Shannon denied allegations that he sexually harassed one of his prosecutors, but the county paid her a $300-thousand dollar settlement.
Shannon chose not to run for re-election last year.
As for David Harris, CBS 11's Jack Fink went to his house Thursday seeking comment. A woman who answered said no comment and shut the door. She did not identify herself.
County Commissioner Andy Nguyen said he has heard about this, but hasn't spoken with the District Attorney. He declined further comment.
CBS 11 has a call out to Tarrant County Judge Glenn Whitley, but haven't heard back just yet.
