DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - The trade-minded Eagles found a taker for DeMarco Murray on Monday afternoon but not before they worked with a "talker" in the running back's former team in Dallas.
Sources inside Valley Ranch tell me that before Murray was dealt to the Titans, Philly and Dallas discussed a swap that would bring the former All-Pro back to the Cowboys.
It's not yet known what the terms are for Tennessee or what they might've been for the Cowboys. Surely finances are part of the give-in here as Murray is due $9 million more guaranteed under his previous deal. His representation has announced that Murray will get a new contract from the Titans. Trades can officially be made Wednesday, the first day of the NFL year.
Murray signed a five-year, $40-million deal with the Eagles last year after he led the NFL in rushing with Dallas in 2014. But Murray, 28, appeared in decline by following up his year 1,845-yard season with a part-time role and just 713 yards last year with the Eagles.
