Some Protesters Arrested During Dallas Demonstration

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A demonstration near downtown Dallas managed to turn a few heads and land several protesters in jail.

The loosely organized protest made its way down Main Street. Most workers in the area said they saw, rather than heard the demonstration.

The anti-police, often profanity laced, protest took marchers through parts of Deep Ellum and eventually turned toward Fair Park.

The few dozen protestors were clearly outnumbered by accompanying police.

The march was peaceful until something; police haven't said exactly what, led to a scuffle near Ash Street. "We'll be at the precinct! We'll be at the precinct!" some yelled as police took them into custody.

Police say the protesters were arrested for obstructing the highway. Those arrested insisted they did nothing wrong.

Police brutality and police involved shootings have been on the top of mind in communities across the nation and Dallas is no different.

While there have been huge rallies in Dallas, organizers of those efforts said the goal of those gatherings is to force accountability and change -- and not simply to vent anger.
