FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) – What began as a crawl-speed chase between a man erratically driving a forklift on University Blvd. and a single police cruiser escalated in a multi-car pursuit that ended in the middle of Interstate 30 Sunday.

Police say Timothy Raines, 43, was shirtless, drunk and tossing empty beer cans at officers who were trying to pull the forklift over.

Raines veered off University into a nearby parking lot, then drove back onto the street. He slowly crept onto westbound Interstate 30. Police eventually encircled the forklift and shot him with a Taser and arrested him.

Raines was charged with aggravated assault, auto theft, evading arrest, violation of a protective order and driving while intoxicated. He remains in the Tarrant County Jail.
