Sikh: Large In Size, Largely Misunderstood
RICHARDSON (CBSDFW.COM) - The Sikh religion is the fifth largest in the world, and perhaps the most misunderstood.
There are five Sikh temples -- or Gurdwaras -- in North Texas, and approximately 40,000 followers of the religion living in the DFW area.
The religion, which was formed in India in the 15th Century, is often misunderstood. KRLD spoke with a member of the Richardson congregation. Gurvindere Sing teaches the foundations of Sikhism in the congregation's youth program, and he is also a part of United Sikhs, a United Nations affiliated international nonprofit organization.
