Shooting Kills 1, Injures 3, At California Polling Site

AZUSA, CA (CBSDFW.COM/AP) – A shooting at a polling site in Azusa, California has killed one person and wounded three others.
Four people were transported to hospitals following the shooting, said Vanessa Lozano of the Los Angeles County Fire Department. One of them was declared dead upon arrival.
Two of the patients with gunshot wounds were in critical condition. The condition of the third patient was not immediately known.
Azusa police say the incident began shortly after 2 p.m. PST when officers responded to the report of shots fired in a residential neighborhood.
Azusa police Officer Jerry Willison told CBS LA officers "were met with gunfire" when they responded and found themselves "pinned down" by the shots. Authorities worked to extract the pinned-down officers, Willison said. Multiple officers returned fire, police say. No officers were injured.
The motivation is unknown and it's unclear whether the shooting has anything to do with the election.
LA County Registrar Dean Logan said two polling places — Memorial Park and Dalton Elementary School — were impacted by the shooting and that voters should seek out alternative polling places.
No arrests have been made.
