Gunman In Houston-Area College Shooting Arrested In Plano
PLANO/HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM) - A second suspect in that shooting at a Harris County community college was arrested early Friday in Plano, according to broadcast reports.
KTRK Television in Houston said 22-year-old Trey Foster was taken into custody around 1:20 a.m. after being tracked to a friend's home in Plano by the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force.
Plano Police refused comment early Friday, referring all calls to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Foster did make an initial court appearance in Collin County and was being transported back to Houston, KTRK reported.
He faces two charges of aggravated assault and investigators told KTRK a gun used during the shooting was also recovered.
A statement from Harris County officials identified the first suspect as Carlton Berry. Spokesman Alan Bernstein said Berry was charged with aggravated assault but remains hospitalized with wounds suffered in the shooting.
Investigators said it began as fight between two people at a Lone Star College campus in suburban Houston. A maintenance man was caught in the crossfire, and students and others were sent cowering in classrooms.
No one was killed, but the volley of gunshots heard shortly after noon created fear of another campus massacre just over a month after 26 were killed at a Connecticut elementary school.
