Severe Weather Moves Through North Texas

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - While not as bad as initially forecast, the storms Tuesday night brought heavy rains, high winds and small hail to many parts of North Texas.
In Tarrant County CBS11's Jeff Paul saw lots of rain, thunder and lightning and strong winds. However, he did not see any wrecks or cars pulled over to wait out the storm at 10:05 p.m.
Meantime, in Arlington, the Rangers played their fastest game of the year. Fans were told to evacuate the upper deck late in the game.
As soon as the game ended, the grounds crew put a tarp over the infield. CBS11's Andrea Lucia said it was a relatively sparse crowd of 13,000 or so as many stayed home to avoid the weather.
It started pouring after the game.
Plano experienced 40 to 60 mile per hour winds but no reports of significant damage as of 10:30 p.m. Car dealers there took extreme measures to protect their inventories. CBS11's J.D. Miles was there as the rains got heavier.
In Fort Worth, drivers created a make-shift garage under a bridge on I-20 to escape the storm for a while. CBS11's Gilma Avalos was there.
