Severe Weather Moves Into DFW Sunday Evening

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Overnight lows Saturday will hover in the 60s because of a steady south wind, but severe weather will likely descend along the eastern portion of the region Sunday evening.

There is a slight change for some drizzle or light showers for the Cowtown Marathon; it'll be in the 60's for the race and very humid (dew points around 60°) with a south wind picking up to 10 to 15 mph as the race gets in its second and third hour.

Despite mostly cloudy skies, expect that brisk south wind to get temperatures into the upper 70's.

Storms are in the forecast Sunday, including some showers in the afternoon. The risk of severe weather starts to show up in the evening along the eastern half of the Dallas-Fort Worth Area.

Strong winds and hail are the biggest threats, but super-cells could develop and produce a tornado threat. These severe storms will last well into the night as they continue to move east.

The last day of February looks sunny and windy with highs in the low 60s. Expect warmer weather in March and a dry workweek in the 70s.
