Seventeen Horses Die In Allen Fire
The shocked and grieving owners stood helplessly in the 100-degree heat, knowing their animals were dying in the fire but unable to help. The flames broke out around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday and quickly spread throughout the the 76-hundred square foot barn at a horse-boarding stable on Greenville Avenue north of Exchange Parkway. Only three horses survived. As of late Wednesday none of the horses had been removed from the rubble because investigators are waitomg for insurance adjusters to total up the damages.
