Seven Tornado Touchdowns Confirmed
The National Weather Service says the remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine were to blame for seven tornado touchdowns in north and northeast Texas. The strongest was the one that hit a paint storage warehouse on Mockingbird in West Dallas. A second twister touched down near Ferris and then hop-scotched toward Seagoville where it tore off roofs and caused other damage in southeast Dallas County. Other touchdowns were confirmed in Tarrant, Lamar, Rockwall and Cooke counties. There were no deaths or injuries from the tornadoes but a man died in Johnson County when he drove into a low-water crossing and was swept away in the raging waters.
