Missing Plane Found Near Terell, Four People On Board Dead

Updated at 9:00 p.m: Lynn Lunsford from the Federal Aviation Administration says a Department of Public Safety helicopter has located the plane near Terell. Lunsford says four people were found dead at the site.

VAN ZANDT COUNTY (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities have suspended the search for a small plane that went missing while it was flying over Van Zandt County.

Lynn Lunsford from the Federal Aviation Administration says two people were believed to be on board the plane. The Northwest Regional Airport lost contact with the plane at around 9:40 a.m. when it was about 25 miles southeast of Terrell.

The plane had left from the Denton County airport earlier in the morning.

Authorities suspended the search because of reduced visibility at night.

Two weeks ago a plane that departed from Northwest Regional Airport crashed in a nearby wooded area. Both people on board that plane died as a result of the crash.
