THE COLONY (CBSDFW.COM) -- A suspect in a black sedan got out and fired several shots at a parked car during a robbery in The Colony Tuesday, according to police.

Three people were in a car traveling from a Valero gas station to the Avana Stonebriar Apartments nearby when they noticed the black sedan following them.

After pulling into a parking space, they saw someone in that car pull out a gun. Police say three walked up to the car.  One had a gun and one had a knife.

Police say the suspect with the knife demanded money and anything else they had with them.

Police say two of the victims were pistol-whipped and one of the suspects fired four shots into their car, a light colored four-door sedan, but nobody was hit by the bullets.

The three suspects took off with a wallet and cell phone belonging to the victims. The victims' are not sure what else he may have taken.

One of the victims who was pistol-whipped walked away from the scene.

Police are searching area hospitals looking for that victim.
