Search On For Suspect In Deadly Hit And Run

UPDATED: 02/01/2016, 3:33 PM: Police have identified the woman who was killed in the hit-and-run accident that happened Saturday as Sheila Smith, 53, of Garland.

The investigation is still ongoing. The identity of the driver is still unknown at this time.

GARLAND (CBSDFW.COM) - Garland Police are searching for a vehicle and its driver involved in a deadly hit and run Saturday night.

It happened shortly after 8:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of W. Kingsley Road.

According to witnesses, a gold, newer model Ford Mustang, with a black convertible top, was traveling eastbound on W. Kingsley Road.

Witnesses told police they saw the Mustang hit a woman who was crossing the street.  The car kept going.   The Mustang also had dark tinted windows, according to witnesses.

Investigators have not yet identified the victim.

Police are asking for the public's help in identifying and locating the vehicle and its driver.
