Search Narrows For Fatal Hit-&-Run Suspect

GRAND PRAIRIE (CBSDFW.COM) - Friends and family members will hold a funeral on Wednesday afternoon for the 6-year-old boy who died in a hit-and-run crash in Grand Prairie last Thursday.

The search for the driver is in full swing, and detectives are releasing a new piece of information that could lead them to the suspect. After analyzing video from the scene, the Grand Prairie Police Department believes that the car which struck 6-year-old John Paul Raidy was a Toyota Yaris.

The boy was crossing the street with his family when he was hit by the vehicle. A passing woman tried to help out, but Raidy ultimately died from his injuries. A funeral will be held for the boy Wednesday at noon at Laureland Funeral Home.

Police said that the driver honked at the family before hitting the boy, carrying him 300 yards on the hood of the vehicle before he fell off. The driver then sped away from the scene.

Anybody with information about the driver in this hit-and-run incident is urged to contact the Grand Prairie Police Department.
