Search For Armed Suspects Who Carjacked 86-Year-Old

DUNCANVILLE (CBSDFW.COM) - Two armed men are on the loose in North Texas after a carjacking and police chase that ended with a crash and daring getaway.

According to Duncanville police, it was just before 11 a.m. when one suspect attempted to rob an elderly man.

The incident happened at a convenience store in the 100 block of W. Danieldale Road.

The 86-year-old victim told police the man approached him at the gas pumps and demanded his wallet. The man said the suspect pulled a gun and they began to struggle. It was then the second suspect got into the victim's 4-door, maroon-colored car and sped off. The gunman then fled the scene in a tan-colored Saturn.

Police soon spotted the carjacked vehicle near Wheatland Road and Westmoreland. When officers tried to get the suspect to pull over he sped away and shortly lost control of the car and crashed.

The suspect then ran from the car and jumped an 8-foot fence into a wooded area, near a residential neighborhood. Duncanville police were joined by officer from Dallas and searched the area on the ground and from the air, but were unable to find the suspect.

The armed suspect who attacked the elderly victim also has not been located. Fortunately the victim was not injured during the struggle.
