Body Of 2nd Fairview Sewer Line Accident Victim Found
Story updated 1:50 p.m.
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) - Friday morning, officials in a North Texas town, where a sewer line accident killed one man, had thought a blockage in the line could have possibly been the body of a missing second worker. While that was not the case, just after the lunch hour officials in the Town of Fairview confirmed that the second victim had been found.
As of 1:00 p.m. rescue workers were in the process of recovering the body.
Emergency officials say two men, while not wearing protective breathing equipment, were apparently overcome by fumes while working on the line around 8 a.m. Thursday. A third worker, who is also the brother of one of the victim's, called 911.
Godwin says the first body was located later Thursday morning and has been removed from the sewer line. Names of the victims have not been released.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been called in to help investigate.
A press conference concerning Friday's events has been scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
