The Red King Crab season begins this month in the middle of the freezing and often treacherous Bering Sea in Alaska.

"Four hundred seventy-one miles northwest of Dutch Harbor" booms the voice guy for the television show Deadliest Catch Mike Rowe.

That is how far the fishing captains take their boats to find the elusive Red King Crab each year.  The Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill in Plano is one of the first restaurants in the United States to get the tasty morsels of Alaska's finest King Crab.

"This first boat is off the fishing vessel The Arctic Sea and I will have King Crab here on Thursday" said owner of Sea Breeze Fish Market & Grill in Plano Rick Oruch.

The first shipment of red king crab is not huge, but it literally comes right out of the sea onto an awaiting jet.

"I've got one box coming in this week, it's a forty pound box, so I would imagine the first forty people here will be fortunate and the others will have to wait until the end of the month" smiled Oruch.

The full king crab season open on October 15th so the next shipment will make it to Plano the day after they dock in Dutch Harbor Alaska.

"I'll have my second shipment here around October 23rd or 24th" noted Oruch.
