Ryan Says Rangers Will Win 90-95 Games In 2011
ARLINGTON (AP) - Nolan Ryan isn't making a specific prediction this season on how many games he thinks the Texas Rangers will win.
Instead, the team president and CEO is giving himself a little wiggle room. He expects the American League champions to win between 90 and 95 games.
Last season, Ryan predicted 92 wins. Texas won 90 regular-season games and the AL West, then added eight more in the playoffs.
Texas opens the season at home Friday against Boston. The Rangers will raise their championship flag before playing a Red Sox team considered a favorite in the AL East after adding Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez.
