Dallas scored 2:33 into the game. Sharp won a battle for the puck in the neutral zone, passed to Seguin and skated to the net in time to wrist in the rebound of Demers' shot.
Twelve seconds into San Jose's second power play of the second period, Demers scored shorthanded by tipping in Roussel's shot from the left faceoff circle.

The Stars regained the lead at 15:00 when Vernon Fiddler skated from behind the net and fired the puck past Stalock on the short side.
