Rosary & Funeral For 2 Officers Killed In Dallas Ambush

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - More than a week after a very deadly day for police officers in Dallas funerals and memorials for two of the officers killed in the ambush will be held today.
The family of Officer Michael Krol has asked for privacy during his funeral this morning at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. There will be no media inside or video streamed on the web, like you've seen during some other services.
The funeral began at 11 a.m. and will end with an honor guard ceremony.
Officers from all over the country came to Plano to pay their respects to Officer Krol. Sean McGraw, a police officer with the Highland Park Police Department in New Jersey, said he just had to be here.
"It doesn't matter where it is. You know, when tragedy happens we are just one big family. You might not know then, so to say, but we are compelled as a family to keep together," he said.
Krol, 40, was a Michigan native and had been with the Dallas Police Department since 2007. There will be another funeral for Krol next week in Michigan and he will be laid to rest there.
Southwest Airlines has added a flight from Dallas to Detroit on Tuesday and is offering free tickets to members of law enforcement who would like to attend the Michigan funeral.
Later tonight, an open visitation will be held in Fort Worth for Dallas Police Officer Patrick Zamarripa. The Rosary at the Fort Worth Independent School District's Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center will be held from 6 to 9 p.m.
Officer Zamarripa was born in Fort Worth and was a graduate of R.L. Paschal High School. The 32-year-old had also served three tours of duty in Iraq with the U.S. Navy.
Funeral services for Zamarripa will be Saturday at 11 a.m., also at the also be held at the Wilkerson-Greines Activity Center. The officer will be buried at DFW National Cemetery.
