Roof Deck House Offers Stunning, Panoramic Views
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - In real estate, it's all about location… location… location.
And there's no better locations than Oaklawn, a neighborhood near downtown Dallas that is home to great restaurants and bars.
The featured modern townhouse at Oaklawn, priced at $689,000, is one such property with its multi-level living space -- a great example of an urban dwelling.
The roof deck house, as it is called, has three bedrooms and two baths on four levels. "We have two bedrooms right here on the ground level and a two-car attached garage," says Lucy Johnson, a realtor with Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty.
The open-floor plan on the main floor makes the 2,800-square-foot home look much larger because of the two large multi-paned museum windows. The windows open up the space and bring a lot of natural light in.
"There's a vertical living feel. Everything is all about the best use of space and it's always kind of looking up," Johnson told CBS 11 News.
The living room, dining room and the kitchen all fit into this modern floor plan. The kitchen has updated appliances, pantry and a special beverage sink built in to the kitchen counter. "It has this very unique beverage sink," says Johnson, adding: "You eliminate any need for wine buckets or coolers."
The master bedroom and bathroom fill the top floor of this house. In the master suite, there is a bathroom-bedroom combo, meaning there is no wall dividing the two areas.
Finally, the biggest draw of this house is the stunning views of Dallas from its roof deck. "The panoramic view of Dallas is truly unique", says Johnson. And that view will likely not go away, thanks to restrictions on how tall buildings can be built in the future.
