Romo To Ben & Skin: "I'll Be 100 Percent"

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - Tony Romo demonstrated good humor and confidence in a Wednesday visit with "Ben & Skin'' on 105.3 The Fan. On the show the Dallas Cowboys quarterback joked about "The Romo Curse'' meme and vowed he'll be completely healthy within the next month.

"There's no question in my mind, not only am I going to be able to make it through 16 games, I'll make it through another five years," said Romo, coming off a December surgery to repair a herniated disk in his back. "Some people have issues just based on their body alignment and degenerative things, but none of those are my issues. Mine is just something small and I just got hit at the wrong time and that's part of what happened. If you play football long enough, you're going to have something."

The team plans for Romo to be ready for training camp in late July.

Romo, 34, said May has "been a good month" of rehab work and he's been throwing, lifting weights and running. He mentioned it, "could be another two or three weeks. We'll see. We'll be smart, but at the same time, we got to get to work."

Romo said he'd be "100 percent'' in terms of his health. Now in terms of "The Romo Curse'' – a social-media meme created after he'd attended college basketball games at SMU and Duke only to see those teams fall short of their goals – he joked that enough of his favorite teams are successful that he's "80 percent.''
