Romo Named NFC Offensive Player Of The Week
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - For the first time since the 2007 season Tony Romo has the honor of being named as the NFC player of the week. It's the fifth time in his career that he has been given this award.
Romo was given the honor following his performance against the San Francisco 49ers that not only included 345 yards with two touchdowns, but also bouncing back from a rib injury and punctured lung and after pleading to get back on the field, he lead the Cowboys from 10 down in the fourth quarter to win in overtime, 27-24.
This comes after a Week One loss to the Jets in which Romo lost a fumble and threw an interception in the final 10 minutes of play that helped New York escape with a 27-24 win over Romo's Cowboys.
This is the fifth time Romo has claimed this award, after earning two in 2006 and two in 2007.
