Robinson Shifts From Cowboys To Colts Deal

IRVING (105.3 THE FAN) - The Cowboys thought they had an agreement with free agent cornerback Patrick Robinson. Robinson thought differently, and has signed with Indianapolis.

Meaning?

The Cowboys were wrong. Or presumptuous, no matter the odd circumstance of Robinson changing agents in mid-stream. So you take your lumps. And you move on.

The Colts have announced they have a three-year deal with the veteran cornerback, and Robinson has announced that he never agreed to a deal with Dallas.

But the fact is, his former agent Kevin Conner did agree in principle to a contract offer from Dallas … but at some point in the process, Robinson's representation changed to agent Ron Butler … which changed everything.

Butler crafted a deal for his client — who hadn't signed anything in Dallas — in Indy that is likely more lucrative than the tentative agreement the Cowboys thought they had.

And that's the end of that. So you move on.
