FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Someone kicked in the front door of a home where two teenage boys were alone inside the living room Tuesday night.
It happened around 7:20 p.m. in the 1300 block of Hamstead Street.
A man pulled out a handgun and demanded to know who else was in the house.
The suspected robber took items from the house and took off.
Police say a neighbor witnessed the suspect kick in the front door and confronted the suspect.
They allegedly shot at each other and the suspect jumped into a dark-colored older model 4-door car, possibly a Nissan.
The car has tinted windows with darkened wheels or missing wheel covers. A woman was driving and there were two other men in the back seat.
Police say the father of the 14 and 15-year-old boys was followed home from a nearby pawn shop. The father left the house moments before the suspect kicked in the front door.
Fort Worth Police say, "The suspect is black, 17-25 years old, and is approximately 6 feet 2 inches tall. He was wearing dark colored jeans and a black hooded jacket with Nike type tennis shoes. The suspect also wears glasses.
The driver is approximately 18-25 years old with long hair (possibly in braids)."
Their images were captured on convenience store surveillance video.
Anyone with information on the vehicle or the suspects is asked to contact detectives at 817-392-4469.
