FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Authorities in Fort Worth said that a man robbed and attacked people five times within just 18 hours. It happened four times in Fort Worth and once in Euless, and the suspect is now behind bars.
Police confirmed the arrest on Twitter on Wednesday morning.
Investigators had called the man "violent" and "dangerous" after he allegedly hurt one of his victims early Tuesday.
Several of the crimes took place within the parking lots of big-box stores such as Walmart and The Home Depot, and in broad daylight, no less. Police believe that, in every incident, the suspect threatened his victims at knifepoint.
During the first incident, on Monday afternoon, the suspect stole a man's blue Dodge Ram pickup truck.
According to investigators, a man at The Home Depot store along White Settlement Road in Fort Worth was stabbed as his wallet was taken. He did not even realize that he was stabbed in the back until he felt blood running down his hand. That victim is now out of the hospital and expected to be okay.
The suspect even targeted a mother and her two children at a Subway location along Trail Lake Drive. She scared away the suspect by honking her horn.
"He has no qualms about using force," said Det. Brian Raynsford with the Fort Worth Police Department. "He has used force. He's stabbed somebody."
The name of the arrested suspect has not been released. Law enforcement officials in Fort Worth explained that he was found by the Gainesville Police Department along with investigators from WinStar Casino in Oklahoma, after allegedly committing yet another robbery in Gainesville before being taken into custody at the casino.
The suspect remains behind bars in Oklahoma and will soon be moved back into Texas.
